Some of the following incantations are found because there were no ‘original’ ones. But they are deduced from latin words and the spells really exist. All of them can be found at http://harrypotter.wikia.com.

First Year

• Coloromuto: Changes an object’s color.
• Capus Cavum (“Cauldron to Sieve”): Transfigures cauldrons into sieves.
• Aversio Claustrum (“Beetle Buttons”): Transfigures a beetle into a button.
• Carcer Murinus (“Mice to Snuffboxes”): Transfigures mice into snuffboxes.
• Pullus: Transforming spell that turns Erklings into geese.
• Vermiculus: Transforming spell that turns Vampyr Mosps into worms.
• Epoximise: Bonds two objects together.
• Melofors: Encases the heads of creatures in pumpkins.
• Badgering: Turns target human into a badger.

Second Year

• Serpensortia: Causes a large serpent to burst from the end of the caster’s wand.
• Leptum Labicum (“Rabbit Slippers”): Transfigures a pair of white rabbits into slippers.
• Voluta Anum (“Snail to Teapot”): Turns a snail into a teapot.
• Ericius Acvasum (“Hedgehog to pincushion”): Turns a hedgehog to a pincushion.
• Avis: Launches birds from casters wand.
• Orchideous: Conjures a bunch of flowers.
• Fera Verto: Turns animals into water goblets.
• **Sea urchin jinx: Makes tiny spikes erupt all over the victim.
• **Raven to Writing Desk (Turns ravens into writing desks.)

Third Year

• Aves Verto: Turns a bird into a rat.

• Compositus Verto: Turns a match into needle.

• Evanesco: Does NOT just make something invisible, it makes the object go away completely.
• Lorit Verto: Turns a quill into a pen.

• Numididae Verto: Turns a guinea fowl into a guinea pig.

• Proprius Verto: Transforms one animal into another. Names of animals should be similar in order for the spell to be successful.

• Guttum Cersia (“Teapot to tortoise”): Turns a teapot to a tortoise.

Fourth Year

• Efulgeonivosus: Makes an enchanted snow fall in an area; the snow is warm and dry.
• Scribblifors: Used to turn objects into quills.
• Snufflifors: Used to turn books into mice.
• Volatilis Lutum (Bat-Bogey hex): Engorges an opponent’s snot to bat-size, gives them wings, and sets them to attacking his or her face.
• Restituo (Switching spell): Swaps one thing for another
• -Example: Neville Longbottom accidentally put his own ears on a cactus.
• Lapis Cansus (“Rock to dog”): Turns a rock to a dog (of ANY race the caster thinks of).
• -Example: During the First Task of the Triwizard Tournament, Cedric Diggory used this spell on a rock in the arena. The spell transfigured the rock into a Labrador.
• Humanum Alsucula (“Human to pig”): Turns a human being to a pig.
• -Example: Rubeus Hagrid attempted to turn Dudley Dursley into a pig… Unsuccessful.
• Humanum Ictis (“Human to ferret”): Turns a human being to a ferret.
• -Example: Barty Crouch Jr. (disguised as Mad-Eye Moody) used this spell on Draco Malfoy when he tried to curse Harry Potter.
• Piscifors: Transfigures the target into a fish.
• **Floating eyes curse: Conjures floating eyes to hover over the target area, which radiate a small but damaging aura.

Fifth Year

• Avifors: Turns inanimate objects into birds.
• Arowhora: Shoots arrows out of casters wand.
• Disillusionment Charm (incantation unknown): Causes the target to become able to change color to match their background, effectively hiding them without making them invisible.
• Geminio: Duplicates the target object.
• Glisseo: Converts the treads of stairs to flatten, turning the stairs into a slide.
• Lapifors: Used to turn a small object or creature into a rabbit.
• Steelclaw: Used to make an animal’s claw’s bigger and made of steel.
• Cordonium Alevian: “Canary Transfiguration Hex”; hex that temporarily changes a person into an oversized canary.
• Gemino Curse: When touched, the target object will multiply, but the copies are worthless in anyway.
• Crescoramus (Antler Hex): Causes the victim to sprout antlers.
• Humanum Simius (“Meddling Man to Monkey”): Turns a meddling man to a monkey.

Sixth Year

• Incarcifors: Used to transfigure an object to capture an opponent.
• Servoverto (Protean Charm): Complex spell that makes something change form.
• -Example: Hermione uses this spell to creat the Dumbledores Army coins to look like galleons)
• Duro: Used to turn objects to stone
• Melofors: Used to turn an opponent’s head into a pumpkin.
• Lingucornus (Horn Tongue Hex): Turns the tongue to horn.
• Noctum Vertu (“Owl to opera glasses”): Turns an owl to opera glasses. The spectacle frame will take the color of the owls coat.
• Filium Rasotum (“Small Child to Rat”): Transfigures a small child to a rat (but doesn’t work on first year students anymore).

Seventh Year

• Homorphus: Causes an Animagus or transfigured object to reassume its normal shape.
• Caligo Sicula (“Smoke to daggers”): Used to transform smoke into a group of daggers that can be directed a target.
• Draconiforce Incendium (“Fire to snake”): Transfigures a snake from a fiery rope.
• -Example: Severus Snape used it in self-defence to transfigure Minerva McGonagall’s fiery lasso into a serpent.
• Humanum Sedeculum (“Human to armchair”): Turns people into armchairs.
• -Example: It has been used by Horace Slughorn to hide from Death Eaters
• Brackium Emendo: A Transfiguration Healing spell that heals broken bones.
• -Example: This spell was incorrectly performed by Professor Gilderoy Lockhart when he tried to heal Harry Potters arm after a Quidditch tournament. The consequence: Harrys arm was ‘deboned’.
• Ossio Dispersimus: A deboning spell used to remove the bones from the targeted body part if the aggrieved person suffers to much because of to much pain.
• **Glass to sand shield: Turns any glass that crosses into the area of effect into sand.
• **Petrifying curse: Causes the target to freeze, like a statue.

Special Case Spells

Can only be used by ADULT WIZARDS AND WITCHES or by those who are only deemed capable or allowed to use them.

• Challiance: Used by Professors on quills – Stops the student from cheating in any way. (Special Case ONLY)
• Ducklifors: Transfigures target creature into a duck. (Special Case ONLY)
• Draconifors: Turns statues of dragons into real dragons that will breathe fire. (Special Case ONLY)
• Piertotum Locomotor: Animates suits of armor – can only be used by Hogwarts Professors when castle is under attack. (Special Case ONLY)
